After leaving Nissan in 2017, Nakamura-san began a new chapter by taking the helm of a stand-alone business called SN Design Platform. This platform was the driving force behind the stunning electric sports coupe known as the AIM EV Sport 01, which was created for a Japanese engineering company. Nakamura-san continues to make significant contributions to the automotive industry with his wealth of experience and knowledge through his creative design solutions and forward-thinking outlook.

The AIM EV Sport 01’s body is made up of alluring curves that flow naturally throughout it, with the exception of the rear end, which is distinguished by sharp edges and rounded contours. Its multi-tubular aluminium frame, double-wishbone suspension system in both the front and rear, and fashionable 20-inch wheels all contribute to the vehicle’s lightweight design. Body panels made of a carbon fibre laminate structure surround the carbon fibre tub, showcasing a beautiful union of strength and style.

Nakamura-san claims that the AIM EV Sport 01 was inspired by the spirit of enduring sports cars from the past, utilising the benefits of its rear-wheel-drive layout. A minimalist and clean aesthetic was used to achieve the goal of creating a design that exuded dynamism while maintaining an air of sophisticated elegance. The simple design language of the EV Sport 01, which forgoes exaggerated and intricate surfaces, is reminiscent of the classic European and Japanese sports cars from the 1960s. The importance of displaying the vehicle at Goodwood was emphasised by Nakamura-san because it is in keeping with the history and inspiration of the vehicle.

As it gets ready for its eagerly awaited debut at the prestigious Goodwood Hillclimb, the nimble and small two-seat electric sports car known as the AIM EV Sport 01 is undergoing rigorous dynamic testing. Two liquid-cooled, high-performance electric motors drive each of the two rear wheels of this svelte coupe, which has a lightweight construction and tips the scales at just 3,142 pounds. The remarkable 10,000 rpm maximum speed capability of these motors adds to the car’s thrilling on-road performance.

The AIM EV Sport 01’s two motors work together to produce an impressive 483 horsepower and a sizable 546 lb-ft of torque. An 81 kWh lithium battery that is intelligently divided into four separate packs powers these motors, ensuring effective power distribution and enhanced performance for the electric sports car.
