2024 Fiat 600 The venerable Seicento returns, this time with an electrifying twist.
In response to the rising demand for environmentally friendly transportation, Fiat is bringing back the cherished model in an all-electric version. But that’s not all; in mid-2024, Fiat intends to release a hybrid version of the Seicento, providing even more options for motorists who care about the environment. Prepare to enjoy the Seicento’s allure with a contemporary and sustainable twist.
The Fiat Seicento makes a triumphant return after a 13-year absence as a small car with a vibrant character. The only thing the new 600 has in common with its predecessor is its name. The new model ditches the three-door hatchback design in favour of a five-door crossover body style for increased functionality. The Fiat Seicento, which is based on Stellantis’ e-CMP2 platform and shares a mechanical platform with the Jeep Avenger, will be joined in 2024 by a comparable Alfa Romeo model.
The resurrected Fiat Seicento has a length of 4.17 metres (164.1 inches) and can be ordered with wheels up to 18 inches in diameter. It is obviously influenced by the Fiat 500 city car’s styling, but on a larger scale. The large “600” logo dominates, and it’s interesting to note that there is no Fiat badge on the front, with the brand only appearing on the tailgate. The overall appearance is instantly recognisable and is reminiscent of the strategy used by MINI to develop the Countryman from the Cooper hatchback.
The rear seats can be folded down to increase cargo space to 360 litres (12.7 cubic feet), and there is also 15 litres (0.5 cubic feet) of additional storage space throughout the cabin. With the help of its 54-kWh battery pack, the updated 600 model can carry five passengers in comfort and aims to have a WLTP combined cycle range of more than 400 kilometres (249 miles). The car should have enough juice to travel more than 600 kilometres when parked in urban areas (373 miles).
The Fiat 600’s battery can be recharged at a maximum rate of 100 kW, enabling it to reach 80% capacity in less than 30 minutes when the battery is empty. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in about nine seconds thanks to an electric motor that produces 154 horsepower (115 kW). This new crossover model, which is positioned as the Fiat 500e’s bigger sibling, will also come with a hybrid powertrain starting in the middle of 2024.
The Fiat 600’s interior draws design cues from the hatchback model and has a number of appealing features. It features a six-speaker audio system, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Fiat also enhances the overall driving experience with practical features like an electric tailgate, automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, rain and light sensors, and more.
The fully electric Fiat 600 can be purchased in Italy for as little as €35,950 for the Red model and €40,950 for the La Prima model, which has more features. The new 600 will start being produced this month at the Tychy plant in Poland, which will also produce the Jeep Avenger. The Fiat 600 will only be available with a front-wheel-drive configuration, in contrast to the Jeep Avenger, which has been shown as an all-wheel-drive concept.
